It is the time of the year to look back on the eruptions of 2010. As I did last year, I will be recounting the Volcanic Year in Review and award the 2010 Pliny Award for the volcanic event of the year. Now, you’re probably all thinking “well, that is a foregone conclusion!” However, I’d like to think that even if your #1’s might be similar, there will be a lot of variety as we head down the list.

So, on that note, I ask for your nominations for the 2010 Pliny – please leave a comment or email me (eruptionsblog at gmail dot com) with your top three volcano events of 2010. Sift through the blog (easily to start with the current post and go backwards using the “previous” button below the post text) and see what you think deserves recounting in the Volcanic Year in Review. I will collect nominations until December 31 and then post the Year in Review along with announcing the 2010 Pliny early in 2011.

I look forward to your nominations!
