Former Governor of New York Eliot Spitzer stopped by the studio yesterday for a conversation about past errors and future recovery—about America’s struggle to reemerge from its financial crisis, and his own path toward reemergence from the scandal that ended his tenure two years ago. In an hourlong discussion, he reflected candidly on some of the most influential and controversial figures of recent times: Tim Geithner, Bernie Madoff, Larry Summers, Barack Obama, Eliot Spitzer.

Other topics covered in the wide-ranging talk included the addled state of the Democratic Party, yesterday’s controversial Supreme Court decision about corporate funding of campaign advertising, and Spitzer’s recent experiences as a political science professor at CUNY.

The interview will air next Thursday.
