the free Taxi 07 exhibit in New York City opens this week:

“Come see the future of the NYC taxi. The Design Trust for Public Space presents innovative taxi prototypes that could be your next ride. April 6-15 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center…

Taxi 07’s goal is to facilitate innovative new cab designs and propose improvements to the technologies, regulations, and public spaces that support the taxi system. Implementation of these improvements is being pursued through three related program initiatives: design excellence, a taxi system report, and public awareness


The Taxi 07

Exhibit will show that the yellow cab can powerfully communicate our

city’s commitment to sustainable mobility, access for all, and good

design. Exhibit highlights include alternative-fuel taxis, wheelchair accessible taxis, 21st century taxi stands, improved roof lights and partitions, improved passenger compartments, a film portrait of NYC taxi drivers, historic taxis…”
