As some of you know, the Achievement Through Technology

and Innovation (ATTAIN) bill

recently was introduced in the U.S. House of

Representatives. The bill seeks to refine and expand the Enhancing Education Through

Technology

portion of the federal No Child Left Behind Act. Here’s the draft

language of the bill:

Through Technology and Innovation (ATTAIN) bill

Here’s my favorite language in the bill:

[Each state application for funds shall include a] ‘description of how

the State will ensure that teachers, paraprofessionals, library and media

personnel, and administrators in the State are technologically

literate.

Woo hoo! State specificity regarding administrator technology literacy. I’m

all over it!

CoSN, ISTE, SETDA,

and SIIA all have come out in support of

the bill. Check it out and see if it’s something you can get behind. If so, contact your House representative!
