However, this is not the case in Pakistan, says Newsweek. Because men have not traditionally considered the art market a profitable industry, preferring creative industries like illustration and advertising, there is much open space for women to rise. Female Pakistani artists and curators are gaining international exposure in hubs like New York and Tokyo, and as developing art markets open to the West, look for Pakistan to lead the way.
