In a recent lecture delivered to Karachi University in Pakistan, Dr. Iqbal Choudhary said biotechnologies will be an important tool for countering the effects of climate change, ensuring ready food supplies and adequate medical care: “Biotechnology, if used appropriately, has the potential to provide healthier foods, reduce dependence on fossil fuel, offer more effective cure of prevalent diseases and fatal disease. There is a nead for appropriate cost-effective regulatory systems that are within the means of most developing countries. The challenge for developing countries is ‘how to do a lot with title.'”
