Hannah Ritchie is Head of Research at the online publication Our World in Data, and a senior researcher at the University of Oxford. Her work focuses on the public communication of data and research across global development and environmental issues, including climate change, energy, food systems, and biodiversity.
Her work is often featured in publications including the BBC, WIRED, New Scientist, Vox, the New York Times, and The Economist.
Hannah has a BSc in Environmental Geoscience, MSc in Carbon Management, and PhD, all from the University of Edinburgh.
Her upcoming book, The First Generation, is due to be published in early 2024 by Chatto & Windus, at Penguin Random House. It focuses on the opportunity we have to be the first generation that builds a sustainable world.
