The Chimes of Freedom: Bob Dylan Adds Another Big Award to Trophy Case
The Presidential Medal of Freedom. Where will Bob Dylan place this honor on a trophy case that includes his Grammy Awards, Academy Awards, Golden Globes, Honorary Doctorates, Pulitzer Prize special citation among other honors and accolades?
Dylan was honored along with former Secretary of State Madeline Albright, astronaut John Glenn, retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, novelist Toni Morrison and others.
“These extraordinary honorees come from different backgrounds and different walks of life,” President Obama said in a statement, “but each of them has made a lasting contribution to the life of our Nation. They’ve challenged us, they’ve inspired us, and they’ve made the world a better place. I look forward to recognizing them with this award.”
Is the Nobel Prize next?
If so, which Dylan song qualifies him? Like a Rolling Stone? Visions Of Johanna? Lily, Rosemary And The Jack Of Hearts? Let us know in the comments below.
