David Lynch (b. 1946) is an American movie director known for his unique brand of surrealist filmmaking. His filmography includes Blue Velvet (1986), Eraserhead (1977), The Elephant Man (1980), Mulholland Drive (2001), and Inland Empire (2006), as well as the TV series Twin Peaks, which Lynch is bringing back to television in 2016. Outside of moviemaking, Lynch is also an accomplished painter, musician, and author.
