Follow the Money
A bank car was robbed yesterday in Aden, with the thieves getting away with almost 100 million rials (a little less than half a million US). Now, given what else is going on, this could be small potatoes- a normal (if spectacular) crime doesn't really hold up to war, secession, and terrorism. But there is a long pattern of militant groups of all stripes using crime to pay for their actions, especially bank robbery. As of right now no one has been caught- and no one may ever be- but it will be interesting to see where this money might be going. A half a million can buy a lot of weapons.
