No matter which way you slice it, this picture is both fascinating and nauseating.
Scientists out of Mcgill have used the tissue of a recently-deceased 65 year old woman to make the most detailed ever map of the structure of the human brain, dubbed BigBrain.
The cold cuts you see in the picture are slices of human brain matter which are less than one micron thick. Out of this process, the researchers have created a full 3D map.
