England may allow a new technique that would take DNA from three people in order to avoid passing on genetic diseases such as muscular dystrophy, epilepsy, heart problems and mental retardation.
This in vitro fertilization method would require a tiny amount of DNA from a donor, in addition to that of a mother and father. Nonetheless, many groups oppose this technique because it would involve the destruction of eggs or embryos.
