The Wall Street Journal reported that an industry working group created by the FAA is expected to recommend relaxing the ban on the use of electronic devices during takeoffs and landings. As we have pointed out in the past on Big Think, this ban is not grounded whatsoever in scientific evidence.
While the group might recommend allowing wider use, it would be limited to data. In other words, you still won’t be able to make a phone call.
What do you think?
Would these new rules, expected to be released in a report in September, make you uncomfortable about flying? Does that feel just right? Or is this “relaxing” of the ban not going nearly far enough?
