My wife and I have two teenage boys. We have lived in western Canada and now Toronto. I am a commercial pilot currently working as a pilot/instructor in the airline industry. The internet offers a wonderful opportunity to share big ideas and opinions. Sites like BigThink provide us with another venue to teach and learn. One of the ideas I would like to promote on this site is the value of thinking ahead and seeing the "big picture" To a pilot this is called "situational awarness" and is a key element in ensuring a safe and predictable flight. I am not very confident that most societies have a grasp of the "big picture" and fail to plan ahead. Are we all just blindly stumbling ahead? I think so.
