Vin Scully (b. 1927) is an American sports broadcaster who has been the play-by-play announcer for the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball club for 66 seasons, dating back to when the team played in New York and were called the Brooklyn Dodgers. Throughout his career, Scully has hosted talk shows, called countless sporting events, earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and served as Grand Marshal for the Rose Parade. Most of all, Scully has been a Los Angeles institution for a half-century, connecting generations with his passion for baseball, his soft velvet voice, and his innate gift for vivid storytelling.
