What's the Latest Development?
When Forbes surveyed over 1,200 European business executives about their attitudes, beliefs, priorities and behaviors, five general personality types emerged, all showing strong innovative qualities. Do you see yourself in one? Movers and Shakers have a strong personal drive and may promote themselves while they push a project along. They may, however, be impatient with team work. Experimenters are open to new ideas throughout the development of a project. They are likely to be perfectionists but enjoy sharing the experience with others.
What's the Big Idea?
While there is no one type suited to be entrepreneurs, the two above categories come closest. But innovation is one thing, success is another. To achieve success, a well-balanced team is necessary, likely comprised of all the personality types. Controllers are uncomfortable with risk and "thrive on structure and shy away from more nebulous projects." More than anything, they need to control their own environment. Hangers-on, despite the unflattering name, help by reminding everyone of budgetary and resource constraints.
