What is your opinion on area 51?

Area 51 has been a controversy, for decades why are we still going on about it ? why has the government never truly come out and just explained it in detail so that ppl would feel that they have proved themselves...Is it still a cover up? or is it just another unsolved mystery that ppl like  to talk about.  why is it so highly classified info...seeing how it happened so long ago if it was a military tech. that the government wanted to protect ...don't you think by now it would be old technology ......and they wouldn't care about sharing it....
