I am interested in the notion that our brains were “designed”. As Mr. Dennett suggests.

To quote Shel Silverstein in one of his songs: “Yeah, I know what you’re thinkin’, but I ain’t one of those,”.

Can nature possess cunning?

I think that you my have an interesting argument there, my take on the idea of “design” he is talking about is an evolutionary one ie; trial/error and the survival of genes that facilitated functionality is the machanism of this sort of design and I’m tending to think that such a mechanism doesn’t really require a cunning, it just functions “Darwinianly” if such a word can exist. SQ
