Inspire Lifelong Learning

A conversation on ageless leadership, intergenerational workforces and the power of mentorship

The Big Think+ Book Club is excited to welcome the founder of the first midlife wisdom school MEA, hospitality entrepreneur and New York Times bestselling author, Chip Conley. After disrupting the hospitality industry twice, first as the founder of Joie de Vivre Hospitality, the second-largest operator of boutique hotels in the U.S., and then as Airbnb’s Head of Global Hospitality and Strategy, Conley founded MEA in January 2018. Inspired by his experience of intergenerational mentoring as a ‘modern elder’ at Airbnb, where his guidance was instrumental to the company’s extraordinary transformation from fast-growing start-up to the world’s most valuable hospitality brand, MEA is the world’s first ‘midlife wisdom school.’

We will discuss Chip’s newest book, Learning to Love Midlife: 12 Reasons Why Life Gets Better with Age, as well as guidance on how to:

  • Engage in lifelong (or ‘long life’) learning throughout all stages of your career
  • Effectively navigate intergenerational workplaces
  • Nurture and thrive through mentorship programs
  • Instill wisdom practices at your organization
  • Embody ageless leadership
