A while ago I read a Time magazine article of the greatest human inventions. According to the article, for its time the printing press was the most important invention because it allowed the sharing of great ideas through easily accessible books and helped to start the protetant reformation. Personaly i think that the Personel Computer along with the accessibility of the internet have greatly spead up the technological advances of the latter half of the twentieth century. Information sharing has been the key to human advances since human history began. Look at the romans. They took the best ideas around them and incorporated them into their civilization. Who knows how far we could have gotten technologicaly if the Greek and Roman civilizations didn’t fall.
