Interview Transcript

Ted Kennedy: I’ve always believed that we are created in the images of God, and that the Bible teaches us in Matthew about feeding the hungry and giving to those that are thirsty, and clothing the naked, and welcoming the stranger and visiting the imprisoned.

And what Dr. King said about walking humbly, loving mercy, and doing justice.  I think these words can be simple words, but they can also be guiding words.  And they’ve been guiding for me in the United States Senate.

Interesting and well-balanced commentary. Although I don’t know that I see the paucity of curiosity that David Patrick Columbia sees. In fact, I would suggest that the very existence of big think would indicate otherwise. I’m guessing big think was developed to fulfill a market need—a YouTube for the curious?. And I’d also guess that the intended big think demographic is probably mid-20s and up? I’m hopeful that the existence of this site, Wikipedia, and other tools such as Google Earth, are indications that we are indeed a curious bunch.

A rather good example as to why politicians should not be asked about things or ideas which are separate from the mechanics of politics. You simply get pandering, platitudes, or all to often inanities.

This one fell below the scale set by Big Think…too many like it and Big Think will fail.
