Gaston Caperton invokes continuous education as his method of motivating his staff.
Question: What do you do to keep your employees motivated?
Caperton: Part of being an employee at the College Board is having the availability of many courses and classes that students can take in many different venues. So, continuous education is very much a part of what people do at the College Board, and it’s always been in every job I’ve ever had, it’s always been a focus on, from my perspective as a leader, that people have to be continuous learners. It was when I was governor, it is now at the College Board, and it was when I was in business.
