One question posed by the folks at Techcrunch in their write-up on us is "whether we even need a niche content site for "smart" videos? For the love of my rent, I hope the answer is yes. While statistics indicate that most of us are still watching cats chasing their tails or naked folks um, chasing tail, I think there is plenty of room for so-called "niche" content sites. You-tube serves as a great dumping ground for our collective Id, but I think that there is room for elevated conversation. More important, what do you think? Is there room for "smart" content on the internet?
There is something that Bhagwati mentions in the first thirty seconds: Capitalism vs. Communism. Usually we here at bigthink.com are adverse to polemics, but I think this is a question that we must start to explore.
