I understand that the Internet has help thousands of companies reach a higher volume of potential clients. The same token those potential clients have a higher volume of choices to choose where to spend their money from all around the world. The majority of the time companies outside the US can produce items at a far less cost.
This starts US companies purchasing more materials outside of the country to compete with foreign companies. These purchases decrease jobs and ultimately decrease "disposable income" spending. Now those people who lost their jobs have to do more "borrow spending", bringing the US economy into a recession.
