Commenting on the efforts of relief workers in the aftermath of a Tornado that devastated Oklahoma, Joe Klein takes a shot at nonbelievers in Time. He writes:

"...funny how you don’t see organized groups of secular humanists giving out hot meals."

What do you think?

Is this even true? Probably not

However, what do you think of the underlying assumption here? Why do religious people tend to be regarded as philanthropists while secular humanists are regarded as misanthropists?
