While acknowledging the progress over the past 50 years that was enabled by birth control pills, Geraldine Sealey thinks that we need new methods beyond hormonal contraception. “To achieve true reproductive choice and freedom for all women, we need to start having a more realistic discussion about the pill, acknowledging its shortcomings as well as its achievements, what’s left to accomplish as well as how far we’ve come. The birth control revolution isn’t over yet—for so many of us, there’s a ways to go.”
