I agree that the "big push" theories are a little simple and naive, and I don;t think too many people argue against supporting sound institutions such as property rights, etc., but what is "quietly encouraging" versus meddling? If these institutions do not exist how do you stimulate a better equilibrium without being too intrusive?
Americans just want to pay their bills. Is universal basic income the path to financial stability and economic opportunity?
