Re: Partying While New York Burned
thankyou BigThink for hosting George Nelson. I am researching the origins of Hip Hop, and I want to ask any thinkers out there if they have any source material on the 'political', and 'socio - economic' circumstances of 1980's New York (late 70s, 80s early 90s). I have checked out Nelson Georges' contributions as well as Trica Rose; any other commentators would be appreciated. If any thinkers lived and witnessed the birth of Hip Hop and its culture and would like to share their histroy please drop me a line. Cheers. Brian.
