Re: Re: Evolution vs. Creationism in Schools
Why can't we have it both ways? Couldn't we sit down and teach children Evolution and Creationism and then let them decide for themselves as they get older? Children do tend to be a little smarter than we give them credit for. I know that the faithful may say that we will anger God by teaching evolution, but is God realy so fickle as to strike down his children for listening to an alternate idea. If your faith is strong then listening to a teacher talk about evolution shouldn't cause you to have a complete breakdown in faith. This also holds true for the athiests and more scientific among us. If the argument for evolution is logical and fact based then listening to someone tell the story of Adam and Eve Shouldn't send you running to church and devoting your life to God. I think the more important question should be if you are going to teach creationism then who's version do you teach.
