Ingrid Newkirk makes some very valid points. I agree, if an animal is being harmed, I have the right to intervene. While I would not purposely break the law, I would not hesitate to help an animal in need. There are fine lines in the laws. How many people regularly run red lights, exceed the speed limit, or drive without insurance? Just a few examples of blatant law breaking that many of us do. If we must cross those fine lines, I believe that helping those in need, especially helpless animals, is one of those instances where it is acceptable to not only cross the line, but leap over it.
