Americans consume a voluminous amount of the world's resources, and have come to believe that bigger and better is their birthright. McMansions with three story foyers wicking away energy, gas-guzzling SUVs idling in the driveway, mountains of plastic toys and gadgets which are quickly tossed and replaced with more stuff, the Americans are the brats at the birthday party, always thinking they deserve the biggest piece of the cake. The cost of becoming carbon neutral should be figured into the cost of everything we consume.
