When arguing with religious believers I usually encourage them to ask themselves what kind of reasons it would take to convince them that some religion other than their own was true, because that is the kind of reasons they are going to need if they want to convince me. I repeat the question here since nobody has ever managed to come up with a satisfactory answer to this simple resquest. Never mind what reasons are good enough for me: What standard would the arguments in favor of another religion have to meet in order to make you accept it as true? Do your own arguments for what you currently believe meet that same standard? Because if you cannot say yes to that last question while being sincere, it should make you feel rather uneasy.
