Astronomers Construct 3D Image of Milky Way Galaxy

The most striking thing you will notice is the peanut shape of the central bulge of the galaxy, as viewed from a different perspective than we get from Earth. 

A 3D map of the inner regions of the Milky Way Galaxy has been constructed by two groups of researchers, and is presented in an “artist’s impression” in the video below.
