Temple Grandin on Problem-Solving with Different Minds

PROBLEM SOLVING WITH DIFFERENT MINDS

Dr. Temple Grandin
Author & Professor of Animal Science, Colorado State University

When she was young, Dr. Temple Grandin was considered weird. She was teased and bullied in high school, but found friends in activities with shared interests such as horses, electronics or model rockets. She set her sights on becoming a scientist, and suddenly had a reason for studying. Dr. Grandin has since become a prominent author, researcher, and speaker on both autism and animal behavior; half the cattle in the United States are handled in facilities she has designed.

In her new 5-part class with Big Think+, Dr. Grandin delves into how organizations benefit immensely from the excellence of neurodiverse minds, and advises on how to leverage the unique strengths of visual and verbal thinkers. As the world continues to discover the brilliant variation housed within the human brain, workplaces that want to capitalize on human potential would be wise to take note.

We’re excited to see how Temple and other world-class Big Think+ business minds can help encourage problem-solving with different minds. Check out a sample from Temple’s class and request a full demo below for more detail on Big Think+ Leadership.
