Well, why? What was it about Balenciaga that impressed you? And if it was high fashion, why not CHarles James? His dresses were like archetectural pieces….its not just names to me anyway.

Yes, Billy…so true and so well put. The experiences that require attention and time in our post-modern culture are consumed by only a few, although, shall we add, that doesn%u2019t mean de facto those experiences are somehow better. But, on average, they are. The more passive experiences are easy and so brief as to stimulate the urge for another %u2018quick fix.%u2019 Unfortunately, folks can get that next quickie.

good point… there's always been more poetry written than read, and more bad poetry written than the shortlist preserved as "classics"… poetry is also expressed in different genres and mediums today than just the written word

I find some poetry so boring and philosophical that it puts me to sleep. I think most of America does not purchase a poetry book at the book store. Recently in an English class the professor asked, "How many of you like reading poetry?" Out of a classroom of 27, 3 raised their hands.
