Until one has experienced/communicated with/examined the diverse how can one evaluate its relevance or value.Therefore, diversity by its very definition is valuable in,of,by and for itself.

It matters not if U.S.citizens respect us.When they are done squandering their precious resources,(as we are)for the short term economic gain,dictated by predatory/global economics,who do you think they will invade next.After all it will be a matter of national security, to preserve the "american" way of life.

If we study what has and is happening in Australia and just look at what is well underway in Canada Dr.Barlow's comments seem understated.We Canadians,(stewards of "most"of the fresh water on earth) are setting a suicidally bad example.
