What drives me is the knowledge that I must go on. Then, I decide that I want to go on in the most pleasant way possible. Then, I need to decide how to do that. It continues to build until I determine the best way to accomplish my assigned task. I want my actions and thoughts to be as economical as possible, trying to waste as little energy as I can. I surround myself with positive people, images and sounds whenever I can so that I am as comfortable as is practical. Timing is a factor as well, and if I am well-rested, I know that my work (or play) will be of it's best quality. I remind myself of the pride I will feel as I progress and when I have completed whatever I am doing. (I also try to remember to sit or stand up straight and that perpetuates my motivation). My happiness is the final result, everytime, of a job well done, or something I have put my soul into to create.

Vera Sileikis commented on What Do You Find "Sexy"? on March 16, 2008, 10:27 PM

Sexy is an attitude. If someone feels sexy, they probably look sexy. It is, like Mr. Harrison said, something in the way they move. There is no particular formula that can be applied to everyone and we should all celebrate the fact of it because in most cases, it's the reason we're here.

Amaterasu, you are right. Has anyone seen the commercial where smokers advise why they haven't stopped and each sentence is countered with it's opposite result? One healthy young smiling guy says, I tried to quit but I can't. The next shot is a doctor pulling down his mask saying, I don't think I can operate. It's a great commercial and I'd like to see the same type of ad regarding alcohol. There's alot of money to be made with beer, wine and alcohol, though. Stockholders might not like ads discouraging lower consumption. Their "drink responsibly" labels are almost laughable. I have just celebrated 25 years of sobriety. When I drank, my friends and I would have used that phrase to come up with hundreds of jokes.

Vera Sileikis commented on If I dont believe in you, do you exist? on February 28, 2008, 12:09 PM

To answer your 8 questions: No, no, yes, yes, yes, no, no, no.The issue is not belief. Neither of us exists. I recommend Anthony Peake's book, Is there life after death? where he puts forward the theory that "You are totally alone in your own Everett universe, isolated from all other human beings who in turn inhabit their own universes. You do not exist in time and are in effect an observer travelling through your own life, a life whose future events are out there waiting for you to encounter. They do not exist in any objective future. They exist now, embedded in the block universe, just waiting for you." Mr. Peakes book, in my opinion, in my own universe, which I created, according to what I read in his book, answers many questions I've pondered for most of my life.
