Re: Re: Are two parties enough?
As you have stated, this is not a two party system in this country, nor has there been in a long time. It appears to be a system of who is the "most popular" chip we can plug into the system at the end of the race that gets the nod. All tout that they will "change the system" but it is all rhetoric in the pursuit of "winning the grand prise" but nothing ever changes. Studies have shown and polititians prey opon political apathy from the masses. Most Americans want to be told sound bites and headlines to draw their opinions from, they want to vote for the person who is leading the polls, never knowing what it is that they stand for, we're convinced a single voice is irrevelent, so we go along with the crowd......and when things go wrong we quickly point to those in power and say that it is their faultit is not....it is our own for alowing it to happen in front of us without question. Major media "journalists" shy away from asking the tough questions for fear of losing their spot, a pointed finger from the President to stand and lob a softball.......European journalists don't do this, and is the reason why the President is no longer interviewd by them.We are to blame...we accept what we see as credible at face value assuming it must be true...after all they said it on TV. We vote for people to tell us what we wish to hear and ridicule those who tell us the plain hard truth ie, Ron Paul because taht would necessitate personal engadgement and effort....and we would rather watch TV.it's our fault.....and until we can face this hard truth we will always get the same result.......You see the writing on the wall........is this the legacy you wish to leave your children? We already appear to be comfortable with it the way it is for ourselves, even though in our hearts we know we are lying. … Read More

In any avenue in which someone (corporation) is compensated for an end product in any form, those who are responsible in contribution for said product should partake is a similar percentage of profit for such goods rendered according to the original contract signed with regards to creative contributions. Re: Re: What will a world in which the U.S. is not the sole superpower look like
We teach history in school in the futile attempt not to recreate past mistakes or discretions.....The American revolution, our own past which we hold before us as our idently as to who we are and what we fought for, yet we fail to see. Our success in the American revolution against the world's greatest "super power" at the time, the Brittish was based on the same tactics that are being used against us today......guerrila tactics and a mentality of self sacrifice for an ultimate cause of percieved good and righteousness. I'm sure the Brittish didn't see our cause the same, they probablythought of us much the same as we do now our enemies. Let's face it - we alone are responsible for Bin Laden, we supported an eager "patiot to the cause" against the "evil" Russian empire in their "invasion" into Afganistan. And with our "help" he realised how to successfully attack and defeat a "super power". And we stand agast in how he employs the same tactics agsint us today..... History will forever repeat itself because greed, ambition and ignorance is always born anew and refuses to listen to the wisdom of the experienced. … Read More

You know for someone who is "in the know" and is seeking the highest office in the nation speaking on a topic that has been in the forefront of the economy since the early '70's with gas rationing.......you really don't know all that much about alternative energy. Yes you tell us what "we want to hear" , but when the smoke sttles you have never given us a (your) plan.......bt instead the usual rhetoric. … Read More

Tom McCloughan commented on What advice do you have for young artists? on January 16, 2008, 1:04 AM
What you say is truth....so simple on the surface yet so difficult to do and unfamiliar with traditional upbringing. Most artists are borne from defiance, somewhere their breaking point of standard and traditional dogma and tribal uniformity was breached (the threshold varies)often for survival of their id they defined themselves against the standard and stood out and we were privy to that I believe we all quietly dream but too afraid to rise against. Living within the limits of conformation and Pavlovian doctine it is difficult for most to step into the unknown......but I encourage all to try!
