Downloading the contents of one's brain to a floppy, can it be done? Should it be done? Has it been done?

The singularity is a just a wishful fantasy of computer geeks. Sorry, but Ray Kurzweil is just indulging in another fairytale variant of the fearful wish for an afterlife. The brain is simply too messy and not well enough understood for us to even consider downloading its contents into a super computer virtual reality at this point in time. It makes for entertaining science fiction though. Don’t be surprised if you see a transhumanist church of the singularity opening on Santa Monica Boulevard sometime soon. Then we can all go pray for the downloading of Ray.
Dream on geek boys!

Hmmm, my apologies Pastor. I guess my question was more to determine the rights and wrongs of our life. There is not a soul on the Earth who can, without exception, remember every, EVERY detai of their life; yet it is all stored in the brain. If someone was wronged as a child and it has a direct bearing on their adult life, they should be able to tap into the most in part of their brain to try to resolve the issues. Not to erase and rerecor; but rather try to find answers and resolution. Sure there is hypnotherapy and what-not but that does not bring back every single detail, emotion, etc. I guess it would be, simply put, interesting to see everything we’ve forgotten about ourselves up on a computer monitor. Though, I suppose depending on the individual, it could have severe psycological repercussions. It is just a question that I posed on here as this is what the website is about, ideas and questions.
