The professor is without doubt correct about the ambivalance in an Iranian type of situation where there are forces for change as well as dominant forces for repression. Nevertheless, we and the world have to deal with the present and the possible threats the fundamentalist present. That may require force which the world as a whole seems to avoid. What does the professor suggest in this type of situation?
