The British physicist Steven Hawking is living proof that someone can overcome enormous obstacles and still flourish as a human being. That is why he said in the past that assisted dying was “a great mistake.”


In a recent interview with the BBC, however, Hawking has  changed his tune, saying:

I think those who have a terminal illness and are in great pain should have the right to choose to end their lives and those that help them should be free from prosecution,” he said. “We don’t let animals suffer, so why humans?
