People get old, they get sick, and they eventually die. There is no cure for death. Grasping at the latest "miracle" cure, "As Seen On TV", does nothing but increase profits for pharma. Without advertising to the public, pharma would actually have to rely on evidence-based medicine to show their cure improved patient outcomes, not just the corporate bottom line.

You are only telling part of the story.ALL of the healthcare delivery team is aging. I am a respiratory therapist and we are seeing the same thing - more sophisticated technology, increasingly sick patients, flat pay, poor benefits, mandatory overtime. I left bedside care to pursue a technical degree and now make about 3 times what I did in the hospital. I am embarrassed by admitting that, so much so that I am keeping my license current so that I will be able to go back to the bedside at some point when I can afford it. Yes, it is difficult.
