Thank you for for your post. Unfortunately you are confusing two entirely different systems: the windows operating system and the Internet. They are not the same. Windows has flaws and inefficiencies for the same reason that the Internet does not. I understand you are making lineage arguments for windows from the Apple II. That's fine. There is an argument there, but that argument does not involve the Internet. The problems that you illustrate all involve the economics, both financial and technical, of the windows operating system. Please, sir, inquire into UNIX be it linux, freebsd, netbsd, openbsd, or the new POSIX macintoshes. When you do, please ask the person what the longest uptime they have ever had is. Please ask them what the longest uptime they have ever heard of is. I am certain that numbers they will tell you will blow your mind. You will also sleep much better at night with the knowledge that the Internet is most certainly not dependent on windows.thank you,s fullenwider
