Everybody is more and more open about the gay community, but why is the're no gay washrooms.? If the government doesn't accept it thats fine but the general public still has to deal with it...the purpose of men and women washrooms is pretty much common sense. but! what about gay people ? I don't see the difference if I as a male am not allowed to go into a womans washroom then why should a lesbian be allowed it can't be comfortable for the other woman.. And I can't see it being comfortable for gay males entering a male washroom either. And what about schools????? should we have gay lockerooms too! I think we should. If we don't have these things soon we might as well just have one washroom and changing room for all sexes.

I think that we should have separate washrooms for Canadians.

I don’t no why you are trying to be sacastic? to a simple question..but let me put this to you ….If you worked in an office and spoke and got along well with all 40 of your fellow employee’s and the boss decided to pay for all of you to go to the nearest aqua center for a day of fun…when you got there you find out that there is only one locker room…so you have to change with the other 39 women that you work with …would you feel comfortable with that…and no they are not all swim suit models…so how can you expect a gay 14 year old boy or girl at school feel comfortable…?

On the other hand wouln’t all those people who like to see naked Canadians pretend to be Canadian just to get inside Canadian washrooms and changing rooms (I know I would)?

thetidesofmarch ; you don’t think it would be uncomfortable for you if you were 16 years old changing for gym class at school and having a shower, and your girlfriend is in the same class, and all your buds are looking at your girlfriend naked…or for that matter I can remember when I was about 12 years old changing at the aqua center with my dad and everything was fine cause were all men and have the same things ,,,I understand what you mean but would you feel comfortable with your 12 year old daugter being in the same changing room with all those naked men and would she feel comfortable…?? but Im sure she would feel normal if she was with her mom with other women …and how would a 12 year old boy standing next to a gay 40 year old and knowing that he is gay make the 12 year old feel…when it comes to kids at school or just kids in general I think there has to be some kind of rules…don’t you.??? I think the only way people seem to understand it is if they use there own kids as an example…

I think maybe on purely logic and reason based argument you may have a point. But we live in world where logic and reason takes a back seat to political and moral reality.
While the goal would not be to segregate homosexuals, it is a stretch although not a completely unreasonable thought to draw a parallel to racially segregated bathrooms, and a suppression of minorities is simply not tolerable.
I think dividing bathrooms between the sexes is fine enough.
Bathrooms are for urinating and defecating.
And yes, a minority of the minority of gays do use public bathrooms as means of attaining sexual partners, I haven’t heard of a single instance of gays aggressively pursing heterosexual partners for intercourse, let alone a strong trend that would warrant such a drastic social change.
Simply put, the isn’t enough negative consequences of the current two bathroom system to outweigh the negative consequences of changing this system.

I think there should be separate bathrooms for Muslum bisexuals one for females and one for males.
And, of course, we should again segregate the races.
But when do we begin to separate all these people…. at what age? Before they declare their religion and sexual orientation or after? When is the appropriate age for those contemplating conversion to another religion and another orientation for us to question their intentions.
Perhaps the author of this general question of bathrooms has an answer.
