yes, i believe that chanting in yoga class has given me a certain level of empowerment, and then that hearing my own voice amongst a chorus of others, and how i want my voice to resonate with others. i also believe that sanskrit, because the language is precise and meaningful, also contributes to choosing our words, actions,a and thoughts more carefully. lastly, there is a beautiful reawakening process that happens when one learns to sing or to chant, it is like a reconnecting to a self that has been lost or forgotten, and that self is not just singing some song, but it is singing mantras and slokas that bring about such wonderful by products – peace, nonviolence…etc.
