Parag makes some good observations about trade disputes, China befriending non-friends of the U.S., etc. However, I see these as small issues. The real future areas for dispute stem from the inability of China to handle its massive population, most of whom are, unfortunately, uneducated, living on land which has been razed and exploited for thousands of years. China will always be a 'large' power, but in my opinion never a superpower. [I have been living in Beijing full-time since 2002, as an attorney, and have been fluent in Chinese since 1988]
