Rima Rabbath commented on David Life: What is your counsel? on March 11, 2008, 11:04 AM
I grew up in the Middle East. I grew up thinking that getting stopped at checkpoints was normal; that collecting shrapmills and playing war games on the streets was normal; that listening to news alert messages on the radio all day long was normal; that feeling as the victim, as the only one suffering in this entire world was normal; that having angry, hateful thoughts and taking sides was normal; that the use of force and violence to get out of that mess was normal. Yoga has taught me otherwise. The first ethical precept of yoga, ahimsa (non-violence) has taught me otherwise. Great masters of yoga like David Life and Sharon Gannon inspire us to think and act otherwise on a daily basis!

Rima Rabbath commented on What is Halloween? on March 11, 2008, 1:08 AM
Dear Sharon, Your explanation is so magically wonderful and it makes so much sense... Why not look deeply into the meaning of Halloween? Why not look beyond what is advertised by Hallmark cards? All beings want peace as much as we do, all beings %u2013 those with a physical body and those with a less tangible body %u2013 are "hungry for peace". We ask for the protection of Saints through prayers. So in the same way,in ancient times, people used to ask protection of angels, saints and holy beings on Halloween nights....
