Climate change is everyone's problem, but I have found that some religion's are not challenging their flock to help repair the damage done by their fellow man. They are told Jesus will come back and punish the transgressors and the Earth will then become the Paradise it once was. God will fix it.
This is wrong!!
Everyone has a moral obligation to care about the planet. After all, we all have no other place to live, at least for the foreseeable future. If we keep trashing it and wasting its resources, the Earth will punish us with drastic Climate change that will kill millions of people. Sure, the well off people in the more developed countries will have a chance to move and live in domes, if need be. But what of the poor and lower class and the populations in the third world? These folks often struggle to survive right now. Some don't, as we all know only too well. What a person believes is not nearly as important as what a person does to make a difference. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.
Saying there is no problem is no longer a defensible position to take. It has been proven scientifically that man has been contributing significantly to Global Warming and The Third World with massive destruction of their own rainforests is harming the environment just as much as pollution from developed countries.
I'm not sure how these problems can be solved, especially the loss of Rain Forests, but it must be reversed, somehow, and soon.
But we can do our small part, each of us to conserve energy, especially Oil and Gasoline. Walk instead of drive when possible. Ride a bike instead of four-wheeling or dirt biking. I wonder how much gas could be saved if we eliminated Nascar and all other forms of Car & Truck racing. I know it will never happen, but just think how much fuel is wasted, and how much carbon emmisions come from just racing, worldwide? I hope for the day when electric or at least hybrid/electric cars are the norm for racing as well as passenger cars.
I know there are already Hybrid Bio-Deisel cars and trucks that exist right now that could outperform any Monster Truck or any Top Fuel Dragster.
