Kurzwell seems to  have a common sense approach to keeping healthy  and living a longer life, at first,  But, 120 pills a day?  My research into this (on the internet) seems to point to getting proper nutrition through a balanced diet. The use of megadoses of vitamins and minerals as well as everything from apple cider vinegar to bee pollen and over supplementing has shown to either not help or even do harm. In  my heart I hope his ideas are valid and will  work- in my head, I doubt that they will produce amazing results. Is Bridge Three the path to eternal life? I will  buy the book and see. He does look great for his age.

There is not enough information in Ray’s short video to support his idea of living forever.  Clearly inflammation and free radicals that cause cell damage are major causes of aging as well as genetic programming.  We are programmed to age.  If one led a life of totally organic foods, healthy BMI and every supplement known to man I don’t think the avg person would live more than an extra 10 yrs than they would have if they lived a typical lifestyle.  The keys to significant life extension will be the correction of genetic errors in the cell such as cancer and somehow keeping the cells replicating in a healthy way.  Can we do it?  I don’t think so.  I seems that sometimes when we mess with Mother Nature too much we get a kick in the ass.  Great drugs lead to super bacteria. Hormone replacement therapy increases breast cancer.

Throughout human history, had we not reproduced and eventually died we never would have been able to adapt to the environment.  Seeking earthly eternal life seems kind of selfish and narcissistic to me.

Ray’s calculated metabolic age may be 40 but he looks about 61 so at least his skin is aging, he is losing his hair, his hands show signs of moderate arthritis, his teeth are worn and his vision is significantly impaired.  I’m also quite sure that an MRI of his spine would show the typical signs of joint wear and disk dessication typical of his age.

bridge #2 and #3 are incredibly optimistic at best but more accurately just wistful observations from a genius who simply doesn’t want to die.

The post by Peter Stanton is a great description of the truth to health… there is so much more to existence and homeostasis then we can completely comprehend. Again, as in the last post… Good Luck though.
