Congratulations Dr. Byrne on your efforts to stop this crime! The counterfeiting of stock and its sale to the unsuspecting public is sucking the hard earning savings of citizens from their pockets straight into the bulging coffers of the Wall Street crooks. In addition to the regulators, the NY financial press certainly appears bought off as well.

Keep after them!!

i wonder if there is a way to get the word on this crime out to the public with television commercials?
i would be willing to bet most folks dont know about it.
just think what would happen if they became educated.

This may sound naive and impossible but to me makes the most sense. Our equity markets should me strictly auction markets based on supply and demand as are any other markets such as real estate and autos, etc.and all other investments which are derivative of the equities markets such as options, short selling, etc., etc., should be completely divorced from the auction market so as not to expose those who wish not to participate or be influenced by these other derivatives. Those wishing to take on extra risk should be left to their own devices and not impact those who are more conservative i. e. mutual funds, etf's.

I agree with rtway on his point. Even legal shorting is detrimental to the market. It is a bet against the company and the market and brings about many nefarious deals. At present if a company has a flaw it will be shorted. With no such thing as shorting maybe the investor will go long, fix the company and profit.
